iTeachFD: An iRead To Live Initiative Volunteer service

Uniosun Law Students: Not Just Advocates but Tutors.

In  a bid to celebrate the season of love with the community hosting  Osun State university,(Ifetedo community) in  Ife South Local Government Area of the State of Osun.

Students of Osun State University, College of Law Ifetedo Campus who are also volunteers of the iREAD TO LIVE INITIATIVE, stormed  L.A Middle School on Monday 12th , February 2018 where they taught  pupils of the school different topics and subjects ranging from Mathematics, English Language,  Civic Education, Social Studies, Yoruba and Christian Religious Studies.

Shortly after the teaching, Students were assessed by writing a snap test based on what was taught.  The teaching sessions which lasted for about Two (2) Hours involved pupils of Junior Secondary School (JSS 1-3) , It was a combination of teaching and motivational talks to spur and inspire pupils to study hard and become great leaders of tomorrow.

The tutors also encouraged pupils to chase their dreams of becoming successful in life irrespective of the challenges facing them in the community with particular reference to the lack of basic social amenities.

The teaching session was anchored on the theme iTEACFTD2018, this is line with one of the cardinal focus of the iREAD TO LIVE INITIATIVE which focuses on  ; “Advocating  for Quality and Equitable Education for All”.

Upon conclusion of the teaching sessions, the Executive Director of the Initiative, Jacob Olaoluwa, SULE announced a Debate and Spelling Bee competition which is scheduled to hold on Friday, 16th of February 2018 in the school auditorium.

The principal and Vice Principal on behalf of other staffs expressed  gratitude to the members of the initiative and every Tutor who took out time  in contributing to the development of the community by  teaching their students despite our academic pursuit in the community.
